Please welcome the new members of our design team!

Our new smash ladies!

My name is Billie-Jean Beveridge and I am from sunny Queensland, Australia. I am a proud mum to two little girls, Dakotah and Amber, and am currently undergoing my Bachelor of Nursing. I began scrapping around 10 years ago after the birth of my eldest and recently stumbled across the world of Smash booking. Smash booking instantly appealed to me as it has become a place to stick all those extra things that i just cannot get into my regular scrap book pages plus it is a little smaller than the usual 12x12 i am use to and i love the challenge. I scrap as often as I can and I like to experiment with different styles and techniques, ultimately so long as I get to make a mess and create I am happy. My favourite things to use when I scrap, right now, would be my distressing tool, my Paints/Glimmermists/Inks, Texture Paste and lastly my 3D tape, everything else is a bonus.

My name is Joan Liddle. I live in northeastern Ohio with my husband and our dog, a chihuahua named Chiquita. I retired in July after teaching for 35 years. Our daughter got married last June; it was a beautiful wedding which I am now Smashing!

I love to scrapbook, make cards, do mixed media pieces, ATC's, art journals and make tags!! I also love using rubber stamps & stencils. My newest obsessions are using a Gelli plate to make prints, doing Project Life and Smashbooking.
I have been papercrafting for about 10 years, have been on many design teams & also have been published quite a few times.
I am delighted to be a member of the Life in Details design team. I look forward to using the challenges in my Smash books.

And the new ladies to the Project Life team!

Hi!

My name is Louise. I'm 27 years old and live in Denmark. I'm married with the love of my life and together we have two children.
I have been a scrapper for nearly two years and a Project Life'er for a year. I love the Project Life concept - the way you documenting your everyday and combine it with scrap.

My name is Marisol Benitez. In the scrapping world I'm also known as MariClaudi.
I married my high school sweetheart 20 years ago and now we have 5 kids! I work full time as a School Social Worker.  I love musicals, reading, gardening. I have been playing with pretty paper and glue since 1997.  In 2009, I discovered Project Life. Since then Pocket Style scrapping has become my preferred choice for documenting our family memories.

Amanda is a Jesus loving, coffee drinking, Kentucky girl living in Ohio. She is married to her best friend and is called "Mom" to her two sweet girls, Adeline and Eleanor. By day she is a 2nd grade teacher but by night you can find her in her studio putting photos and words together to tell her life story. She discovered Project Life in 2011 and instantly knew it was the perfect way to document the everyday moments. Although her style and techniques have changed, her love and passion for the project keeps her chugging away week (or weeks) by week.  You can find her blogging away at www.amandaobanion.typepad.com and on YouTube.

January Challenge: Bling it up!

We hope you rang in the new year safely!  Did you get lots of photos to remember the night by?

To celebrate the new year, we are asking you to use bling on your project life or smashbook spread!

For this challenge, we asked Kelly Greatrex if she would be our guest designer for January.  We are so pleased she agreed to do it!

I'm a thirty-something, married new mum, currently on maternity leave. I work full-time to support my babe, my crafty hobby and my travelling bug. I've been scrapbooking for 5 years, starting after my month long trip to Spain to complete the Camino de Santiago (It's the only album I've ever completed!) As for the travelling...I've been to Europe - London, Paris, and all across Spain (Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Mijas, Santiago de Compestella, Segovia & Toledo are the highlights)and to the Dominican Republic and Cuba, all since 2008.

Here is the card Kelly made for her project life album.  It's beautifully blingy!

You can see more of Kelly's work at The Scrap-Happy Traveller and thank you so much for joining us this month!

Last chance to play along with December's "Anything Goes" challenge!

We have two final projects to share before everyone welcomes in 2014!

From our smashbooker Karyn:

Just love the blues with the black.  I really love the blank canvas you start with in a smash book!  Truly a work of art, each and every page.

From the Project Lifer Kirsten:

I love the fact that she used such a variety of pocket pages.  Project life is such a fantastic way to keep all the pictures you want to without looking busy and unorganized. Kirsten also created a few collages to incorporate what looks like an amazing day!

Thank you for sharing ladies!

If you want to play along, you have one more day to link up!

Anything Goes with Candice!

Candice is part of our smash team and she is sharing today.

She says this is simple, but look what a little doodling and sequins can do!  They can make your page look 'so dang magical!'

Thanks Candice!

Documenting December Pocket Style

When I decided to tackle a daily/weekly project for the Christmas season this year, I knew that it would be best to use a pocket style album. I am using a kit + my stash this year.
I mixing in some larger pages to include photos and memorabilia as the season goes on. What a better title page than these two little reindeer? My toddler and I are having a blast creating handimals and feetimals on the weekends as filler for my album. Someday, it will be fun to look back on how little her feet and hands were.
Using an envelope is a great way to add extra journaling. I can add more tags if I want to as time goes on...
I love to include tiny photos and a journaling tag on my cards- it helps me to tell the small stories that happen throughout each day.
Lastly, I used some patterned paper to add an extra inch of width (2.5 inches of paper folded and then glued to the envelope) so that I could punch holes and not interfere with the card's ability to slide fully into the envelope. This is how I added this year's Christmas card into my album.

How do you document your holiday season? Do you include it in your PL/Smash album or dedicate a separate album for the season? Or both?

How you do include memorabilia in your albums?

Thanks for stopping by!

More December *Anything Goes*

I'm not sure where you live, but here in Northern Ontario we have snow - and lots of it!  My girls would rather be outside playing so there is little time to scrap.  The *Anything Goes* challenge is just perfect for situations like these!

Here are a few projects from our team!

Amanda has such an interesting way of documenting her memories, I think we'll have to bug her for a post later on and give us more detail!  Make sure you visit her blog if you want to know more before that happens!

Carol's project this month is clean and fresh, much like the air on their faces as they were driving!  I love the use of the Washi tape.  Such a personal favourite, it's just so easy to use!

Caroline created this card that I imagine will make it's way onto one of her Project Life spreads for December!  I love that she plans ahead.  I sure could learn something from her!

We still have more projects to share this month, so get creating and we will be back soon!
